Remember those WWJD things back in the day? What Would Jesus Do? These things, whether they were bracelets, necklaces, etc. were supposed to allow one to take a step back and analyze the consequences of their actions based on what Jesus would have done in a similar situation.
Though, I'm not really a Jesus person...nor do I care to handle things a dead person would say. I'm far more practical. Realistic. More personal, if you will. I guess, I need much more immediate results when I want to share life.
I usually don't share much with people. I don't, even though I have a few good friends. I think its because I don't like that vulnerability. However, I do find myself talking a lot to my dog. It could be because she doesn't talk. So, I often wondered, What Would Shadow Say? I think its largely due to my current situation.
Currently, I'm in state of transition. I just moved back to the States, and I'm looking for a long term position. I feel lost and overwhelmed, and that's what got me thinking about pieces of advice my best friend would say. I think she would tell me the following:
Daddy, as long as there's your morning kiss for me and a cup of coffee for you in the morning, everything will be fine. If the stock market crashes or this city's smog makes us all cough, everything will be fine. And if they conquer space, or space conquers us, I really don't care...everything will be fine...if you're here with me, I'll be fine.
All we need is a table, some chairs, a bed, and something to eat...but please, never fail me that I learned to live simple, not to be idealistic, and think of only you. But I hope those kisses in the mornings keep coming, cuz one day I'll be gone. But please don't fail me ever daddy.
Even in the apocalypse, when the riders have lost their demands, everything will be fine. And if there's another war, and the demons have a first and last name, everything will be fine. If you're there, everything will be fine. My universe is in this house, where you live, and by chance, I do as well.
